About this trip

Kerala trips usually move between Munnar's tea hills, Alleppey's backwaters and Kochi's old town, and that mix is what makes it work for such different groups. A honeymoon couple wants the houseboat night, a family wants Munnar's cooler weather, and both get it in the same circuit.

It's a slightly longer trip by nature, since the good parts of Kerala are spread out, but that's also why it rarely feels rushed once you're there.

How to reach: Flights into Kochi are the most common entry point, with the circuit running Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey by road.

Trip highlights

  • An overnight houseboat stay in the Alleppey backwaters
  • Munnar's tea plantations and viewpoints
  • Fort Kochi's colonial streets and Chinese fishing nets
  • Thekkady and Periyar for groups that want a wildlife stop
  • Spice plantation visits en route to Munnar

Questions people actually ask

Most itineraries include one night on the houseboat, which is the standard and usually enough. We can extend it if your group wants more backwater time.
5 to 6 days covering Munnar and Alleppey at minimum, with Kochi added at the start or end, works well without feeling rushed.
Kerala is known for monsoon tourism and Ayurveda season, but if the backwaters and outdoor sightseeing are your priority, September to March is more reliable.
