Adventure trips in India
In 30 seconds
- Rafting season
- September to November, March to June
- Paragliding
- Bir Billing, October to June
- Best beginner trek
- Kheerganga or Triund, 1 to 2 days
- Typical length
- 3 to 5 days
An adventure trip is the easiest kind to get wrong, because the activity has a season and the brochure does not. Rafting depends on water levels, paragliding depends on weather on the day, and treks depend on how fit the least fit person in your group actually is.
We plan around the activity first and the hotel second, and we book through licensed local operators rather than whoever is cheapest on the day.
Where this works best
Questions people actually ask
No. The standard stretches run from grade I to grade III and take complete beginners. Life jackets and helmets are compulsory and provided by the operator.
Kheerganga from Kasol or Triund near McLeod Ganj. Both are doable for a reasonably fit beginner in one to two days and do not need technical gear.
