About this trip
Darjeeling is a slower hill station trip built around tea gardens, the toy train and, on a clear day, sunrise views of Kangchenjunga from Tiger Hill. It's often combined with Gangtok and Sikkim for groups that have more time.
We plan this mostly for families and small groups who want a proper hill station experience without the newer, more commercial hill towns.
How to reach: Flights into Bagdogra, then about 3 hours by road up to Darjeeling. Overnight trains to New Jalpaiguri are also common.
Trip highlights
- Sunrise at Tiger Hill facing Kangchenjunga
- Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the toy train
- Tea garden visits and tastings
- Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
- Batasia Loop and local monasteries
