About this trip
Meghalaya is the trip we recommend to groups who've done the usual mountain destinations and want something genuinely different. Living root bridges in Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong, crystal-clear rivers at Dawki, and Shillong's cafe culture make it a trip built around slow exploring rather than ticking off viewpoints.
It's a longer trip to reach, so it suits groups with a proper week free rather than a quick weekend plan.
How to reach: Flights into Guwahati, then roughly 3 to 4 hours by road to Shillong, which is the usual base for the rest of the circuit.
