About this trip
Gokarna is a temple town with a string of beaches south of it, connected by a cliff path rather than a road. That single fact is what keeps it quieter than Goa.
Om Beach is the busiest, Half Moon and Paradise get progressively smaller and harder to reach, which is exactly why people keep walking.
How to reach: Overnight bus or train from Bengaluru, or three to four hours by road from Goa. Often combined with Hampi.
When not to go: June to September, when the sea is rough and most beach shacks close
