About this trip

Bir is the landing site, Billing is the take-off, and the 14 km between them is why this is one of the best paragliding spots in the world. Tandem flights need no experience at all, which is why most first-time flyers in India do it here.

What surprises people is the rest of it. Bir is a quiet Tibetan settlement with monasteries, cafes and tea gardens, and it works perfectly well as a slow trip even for someone in the group who does not want to fly.

How to reach: Overnight bus from Delhi to Bir is the most common route. Nearest airport is Gaggal, roughly 70 km away. We arrange the transfer and coordinate the flying slot.

When not to go: July to September, when paragliding largely shuts down

Questions people actually ask

No. Tandem flights are flown by a certified pilot and you are strapped in front. No training, no prior experience, and a briefing before take-off.
It happens, and operators will call it off rather than fly in unsafe conditions. This is exactly why we build in a buffer day rather than selling a single-night trip.
October and November are the most reliable, with a second good window from March to June. Monsoon months are effectively closed.
