Bir Billing, a couple of hours from Dharamshala, is where a lot of India's serious paragliding happens, tandem flights included, so you don't need any prior experience. You take off from Billing high on the ridge and land in the fields at Bir. Solang Valley near Manali runs shorter tandem flights too, when weather and season allow, and is the easier add-on if your main trip is already Manali-based.
We coordinate tandem flights with certified local operators as an add-on to a Himachal itinerary. Timing depends heavily on weather on the day, operators will call it off rather than fly in unsafe conditions, and we'll tell you that honestly upfront rather than promise a guaranteed flight.
