Gulmarg in Kashmir and Auli in Uttarakhand are India's two best-known ski slopes. Beginners take lessons with an instructor on the lower slopes, with skis and boots hired on the spot, and the first day is mostly about balance, stopping and simple turns.
Gulmarg also has the Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, for snow views even if you don't ski. We plan ski days with your stay, transport and snow clothing hire.
