About this trip
Corbett is the oldest national park in India and still one of the best places in the country to see a tiger in the wild, with elephants, deer and a lot of birdlife in between.
The park splits into zones, and they are not equal. Dhikala has the strongest record and the longest waiting list, Bijrani and Jhirna are easier to get but quieter on sightings.
How to reach: Direct drive from Delhi NCR in about six hours, or overnight train to Ramnagar at the park gate. We arrange safari permits with the stay.
When not to go: Mid June to mid October, when the core zones close for monsoon
Trip highlights
- Jeep safari in Bijrani, Jhirna or Dhikala zone
- Canter safari into Dhikala for the deepest access
- Corbett museum at Kaladhungi
- Riverside resorts along the Kosi
- Birdwatching, over 600 recorded species
