About this trip
Ranthambore has the best tiger sighting record in North India, helped by relatively open terrain that makes spotting easier than in denser parks.
The fort inside the reserve is the part people forget. It is a thousand years old, free to enter and gives a view across the whole park, and almost nobody on a safari-only itinerary bothers with it.
How to reach: Direct train to Sawai Madhopur from Delhi and Jaipur, or a three hour drive from Jaipur. Safari permits need booking ahead and we handle that.
When not to go: July to September, when the park closes for monsoon
Trip highlights
- Jeep or canter safari across zones 1 to 10
- Ranthambore fort inside the reserve
- Padam Talao and the Jogi Mahal view
- Birdlife around the lakes in winter
- Easy three hour hop from Jaipur
