About this trip
Mysore Palace is the second most visited monument in India after the Taj, and on Sunday evenings it is lit by close to a hundred thousand bulbs, which is the version most people want to see.
The city is compact, clean and easy, and it works as a weekend from Bengaluru or the first stop on the way to Coorg or Ooty.
How to reach: Three hours from Bengaluru by road or train, with frequent services. Nearest major airport is Bengaluru.
